Hotels in Pattaya

On this page

In Pattaya, choose the area first, because the mood changes a lot within a few kilometres. Families usually do best in Jomtien or Naklua, while central Pattaya is for shopping and nightlife. In November 2026, listings started from about US$20 a night, and rates rise on Bangkok holiday weekends.

Where to stay

Central Pattaya. Close to Beach Road, malls and restaurants, with hotels at every price. It's the most convenient for getting around, but it's busy and the main beach isn't the best for swimming. If you're noise-sensitive, stay a few streets back from the bars.

South Pattaya and Walking Street. Right beside the city's adult nightlife and the Bali Hai ferry pier. It's handy for Koh Larn, but very loud at night and not suited to families.

Jomtien. A long, calmer beach with plenty of condos, serviced apartments and family hotels, and a relaxed evening seafood scene. It's a good base for longer stays, about 10 to 15 minutes from the centre by road.

Pratumnak Hill. A leafy, quieter area between Pattaya and Jomtien, with some upscale resorts and small beaches. You'll be close to everything by car, but it's hilly on foot.

Naklua and Wong Amat. The calmer, more upscale north of the city, with larger resorts, good seafood and a nicer beach at Wong Amat. It's close to the Sanctuary of Truth, but farther from central nightlife.

How to choose

Travelling with children. Choose Jomtien or Wong Amat, and a hotel with a pool. Check the walk to the beach, as many "beach" hotels are across a busy road.

Planning a short break from Bangkok. Central Pattaya or Jomtien keeps travel time down, and most buses and vans drop off nearby. Ask your hotel about the airport or Bangkok transfers.

Using the baht buses. These run along Beach Road and Second Road, so hotels near them are easy. Jomtien connections are less frequent, so ride-hailing may be simpler there.

What to expect

Condo rentals. Many Jomtien listings are private apartments. Check the check-in process, deposit and house rules, and read recent reviews.

Hotel guest policies. Some hotels charge fees or set rules for registered visitors. If that's relevant to you, read the policy before you book.

Pools and noise. Pool quality varies a lot, and nearby bars or construction can carry at night. Recent guest photos are the best check.

When to book. Book ahead for Songkran in April, Thai long weekends, Chinese New Year and the December to January peak. The rainy season usually brings lower rates.
